Meditation Mindfulness NatureThis week, instead of writing a blog post I am, instead, sharing a short semi-unscripted audio recording. I absolutely love one-on-one conversations with like-minded souls so it is my hope that this audio recording has an almost conversational tone.

Why do an audio recording, especially when I’m not comfortable with the sound of my own voice recorded? Writing has a tendency to bring out my harsh inner critic. When I write I agonise over each and every sentence and the whole process usually leaves me completely caught up in my head and wrung out. The idea behind a semi-unscripted audio recording is to start letting go of perfectionism; learning to trust and go with the flow a little more. To say that this is a daunting process is an understatement – this is me stepping well and truly outside my comfort zone!

Today’s short recording (approximately 6 mins) includes my musings on what it is about nature that I find so compelling and restorative. I have also included what I think is a magnificent extract from Sylvia Plath’s diary (incredibly she wrote it just before her 19th birthday) about her reverence of nature. Of course, now that it’s recorded, I wish it was more articulate, more this, more that… but I have left it in all its imperfect glory. I hope you enjoy it.
