Cape Schanck – Fingal Beach, Mornington Peninsula National Park

We meet at the kiosk in the Cape Schanck car park, approximately 95km from Melbourne, before walking to Fingal Beach, the southernmost of the sandy beaches along the Bass Strait coast between Point Nepean and Cape Schanck. This hike takes us through dense tea-tree forest above coastal cliffs, with spectacular views along the way, before descending (quite steeply) down to Fingal Beach. We walk along this spectacular and remote beach for approximately 1km before turning back. Mindfulness exercises and delicious whole foods snacks and lunch will be enjoyed along the way.

Grade: Easy-Medium. 8.0km. Sturdy bushwalking shoes or boots are not essential but recommended. Alternatively, please wear runners with good grip. Please note there is a long, steep descent to, and ascent from, Fingal Beach.

Start time: Arrive between 10:00-10:15am for a 10:30am departure.

Pre-hike information, including a confidential medical form, will be emailed approximately 2 weeks prior to the hike. You will be required to complete the medical form in order to participate. Please note that a moderate level of fitness is essential. If you are unsure please consult your doctor before making a booking.

Cancellation Policy: No refunds or credits will be provided for non-attendance; however, you can transfer your place to another person should you be unable to attend. 24 hours notice is required if sending someone in your place. If the hike is cancelled due to unfavourable weather conditions, or other unforeseen circumstances, you will have the option of receiving a refund or a credit for another Mindful Hiking Day.
