catherine morey-nase

Catherine Morey-Nase works with individual adults (18+ years) at her consulting room in Carlton and is an LGBTIQA+ and Neurodiversity aware and affirmative therapist.

Catherine is herself late-identified as neurodivergent and brings both professional knowledge and lived experience to her work. She particularly enjoys working with neurodivergent people, including those who are curious about or exploring whether they may be neurodivergent, and is passionate about supporting neurodivergent clients to cultivate self-compassion and self-understanding in the face of systemic, social, and relational challenges they may have encountered.

Catherine also enjoys supporting neurodivergent health professionals, including psychologists and therapists, providing a reflective and affirming space to explore their own experiences and build self-compassion in the context of their professional roles.

Catherine seeks to understand her clients’ lived experiences and their reasons for seeking therapy. She works collaboratively with clients to support the development of a deeper connection to, and compassion for, all aspects of themselves. The establishment of trusting, compassionate, and curious therapeutic relationships is the bedrock of Catherine’s practice. Rather than viewing her clients’ challenges as ‘problems to be fixed’, Catherine is passionate about offering a safe and affirming space in which unresolved emotional wounds can be tended to, and new and meaningful ways of relating to oneself and the world can emerge.

Working Together

Catherine believes that it is important, and ultimately empowering, to understand the ways in which early experiences shape people’s sense of themselves, their relationships, and their understanding of the world, and how these experiences may continue to influence patterns that no longer feel helpful. She takes a holistic approach that attends to mind, body, and emotional experience, supporting clients to gently loosen unhelpful patterns and to cultivate ways of living that feel more fulfilling, meaningful, and aligned with who they are.

Please note: Catherine only sees clients under Medicare (Mental Health Care Plans), private health insurance, if you are self-managed on the NDIS you can pay the fee privately and claim directly with the NDIS. Catherine does not bulk bill; see clients through TAC, WorkCover, Victims of Crime, plan-managed or NDIA managed NDIS participants; or provide court reports or one-off assessments.
