Description

Ferntree Gully Forest – Dandenong Ranges National Park

To avoid the crowds on the Kokoda Memorial Walk (1000 steps) we meet at the carpark at the top of One Tree Hill, approximately 35km east of Melbourne. One Tree Hill was named in the 1850s for the solitary tree left on the summit after its slopes were cleared. Reserved in 1882, it became a national park in 1927. Setting off from One Tree Hill, now populated by spectacular peppermint and stringybark eucalypts, we enjoy a lovely hike through open forest around Chandlers Hill before returning to One Tree Hill.

Mindfulness exercises and delicious whole foods snacks and lunch will be enjoyed along the way.
