Description

Lerderderg Heritage River Walk – Wombat State Forest

The southern reaches of the Wombat State Forest embrace the Lerderderg River where it enters the small town of Blackwood. This lovely 8.5km circuit starts and finishes at the Garden of St Erth, an historic 1860s sandstone cottage which today is home to a Diggers garden shop & nursery, stunning private garden and inviting cafe next door. We meander along a water race, enjoying the surrounding manna gums, candlebarks and backwoods, until we reach the old Crown Dam site. We then return to our starting point via the Lerderderg River Valley through a lush forest environment.

Mindfulness exercises and delicious whole foods snacks and lunch will be enjoyed along the way.
