Werribee Gorge Circuit – Werribee Gorge State Park

Werribee Gorge retains a wild and rugged natural beauty with its awesome cliffs and unexpected beaches. This spectacular circuit hike provides excellent views at various lookout points along the way as well as beautiful scenery within the gorge itself. The gorge, a 300 metre deep ravine, is recognised as one of Australia’s most significant geological sites due to its more than 500 million years of geological history. It became famous as the domain of gold prospectors and is home to an abundance of wildlife including kangaroos, swamp wallabies, koalas, echidnas and platypus.

Mindfulness exercises and delicious whole foods snacks and lunch will be enjoyed along the way.

Grade: Medium. 8km. Sturdy bushwalking shoes or boots are essential for this hike. Please note that, at various points, this hike requires some rather adventurous clambering over and around rocks with the use of cables.
